Locals know that The Holy City is loved for a reason. The tourist demand won’t let up any time soon and thankfully appropriate supply is on the way. The City knows how to manage the growth and the charm will be preserved with smart growth and conversation. This is a great glimpse of what the pipeline has to offer. The hotel boom that’s been sweeping the Charleston area for the past few years shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.
Several development plans have been submitted to city and county boards over the past few months for new hotels in West Ashley, Mount Pleasant and downtown Charleston.
In West Ashley, Charleston Hotel Inc. is proposing to build a four-story, 112-room hotel on a vacant 2.2-acre lot at 805 Orleans Road near Citadel Mall, according to Charleston County documents.
